Lying at the heart of the Theatre District, this project required a major refurbishment of Acre House.

CGL were appointed by Gannon Homes to undertake a major refurbishment of the former print works to create a total of 11 private apartments over retail use by converting an existing former warehouse on Long Acre.

Built in the latter part of the 19th Century and until recently used primarily as a retail outlet, the site, located within a Westminster Conservation Area had become a desirable location for residential property.

The design created a total of eight apartments on the upper floors with a new extension at roof level enabling the formation of three large penthouses with views over Central London. The retail capacity at ground floor and basement was increased by a new rear extension and lowered ground and basement floor slabs, which is sub-divisible to allow up to four independent units.

Comprising approximately 650sqm of retail space and 950sqm of residential accommodation, this project received planning permission from the City of Westminster following detailed negotiations with planning and conservation officers and was completed shortly after.
