Nike Grafton Street

Working with Nike’s own design team Child Graddon Lewis successfully delivered Nike’s concept store in one of Dublin’s premier shopping thoroughfares, Grafton Street.

A crisp, simple white exterior with minimum branding has created a strong presence in the street, with a stainless steel portal incorporating the Nike ‘swoosh’ marking the entrance to the store.  The entire ground floor is given over to Nike’s menswear ranges with a new women’s concept area on the first floor.  From the entrance, a ‘catwalk’ of light in the ceiling leads to the men’s footwear area which is demarked by a backlit Barrisol ceiling at the heart of the store. A feature wall in white washed oak runs up along side the staircase to the first floor, with inset strips for the display of shoes and the handrail to the stair. Oak is also used as the flooring in the women’s area.

The main women’s area has been created in a number of ‘house’ shapes in sections that step in and out down the building, interspersing the product with bold graphics. At the rear of the store is an intimate footwear lounge with bespoke carpet incorporating the same “N” motif that is used on the walls and ceilings. A bright blue box incorporates the shoe display with spacious changing rooms to the rear.
