North Acton

North Acton, London W3

A new-build, mixed-use residential scheme located adjacent to North Acton tube station

The site falls within Ealing Council’s masterplan for the regeneration of the Southern Gateway, a key part of the GLA’s Park Royal Major Opportunity Area.

The masterplan includes the creation of a significant new public square and improvements to the tube station on the adjoining site as part of the Mayor’s Great Spaces programme.  The proposed scheme will provide 150 new residential apartments across a range of tenures along with new commercial and retail accommodation at ground floor level.  Designed to meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, the project incorporates a range of sustainable technologies as well as high levels of thermal performance and air tightness.

Occupying the north-western corner of the South Gateway boundary, the scheme has the potential to act as a key visual marker to this important and prominent site. An 18-storey tower emphasises the corner, stepping down to a 4 storey block that addresses the scale of the street.  The stepped form of the massing enables the majority of the residential units to be dual aspect, improving the amenity of units and mitigating against the challenging environmental conditions of the site itself.
