Michael Lewis

BSc (Hons), Dip Arch, RIBA

Michael co-founded CGL having gained experience in private and public architecture in the UK and USA, and was a Director until 2014 before becoming a Consultant. He has overall responsibility for a range of award-winning residential, regeneration, office, leisure and transportation projects.

As the practice evolved, he led the design and delivery of a range of major complex schemes which have contributed to raising CGL’s profile as a leader in the field of knowledge-led mixed-use design. These included the delivery of a ground-breaking canal side residential, live-work and community-use scheme, new-build offices for the Guardian, and an award-winning greenfield housing development.

Michael’s interest in urban development and planning has led to the practice’s involvement on research into urban density with the Royal College of Art. His passion for architecture saw him elected to the Academy of Urbanism in 2010 and also a regional judge for the Civic Trust Awards.
