Sophie Hanrahan

BA (Hons)

Sophie is an architectural designer at CGL, working as part of our retail team. Her portfolio has been complimented with a diverse range of work, from retail fit out to global travel kiosks and office refurbishments in the West End.

Sophie graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2010 with a BA (Hons) degree in Interior Architecture and Design. During her studies, Sophie undertook work experience with CGL and returned shortly after completing her degree.

Four years on, Sophie has supported a number of our biggest retail projects for clients Vision Express and Occasions. She has also worked on a commercial office refurbishment project for the Responsible Jewellery Council.

Sophie’s remit has included leading on the design for stores within the Vision Express programme and manage sub-team Nathan Young and Francesca Green. Additionally, she has assisted with and led on other schemes in the retail team including those projects for an international clothing outlet, and UK gift shop chain, Occasions. This includes completing drawing packages from concept design to construction as wells as including submitting planning applications, building warrants, listed building consent , CDM and landlord approvals and building control forms.

Outside of her day-to-day role, Sophie is very passionate about her charity work, often contributing her time and skills to those who need it most. In 2016, she volunteered her time to co-ordinating and project running the development of two properties in Brent for a homeless charity Kairos. The project aims to provide extra accommodation for the homeless who have suffered substance abuse.

Sophie is also part of the CGL cycle team ‘Wheels of Steel’ and has raised large donations for CRASH when participating in various rides from London to Brighton and London to Paris.
