Victoria Wharf is an aspirational development of 22 affordable homes located in the heart of London, designed for Westminster City Council.
The scheme is delivered on a complex, derelict site and is part of the local authority’s drive to build 1,850 new affordable homes in the borough by 2023.
Drawing inspiration from the adjacent canal and traditional barge decoration, our colourful and layered approach has created a distinctive landmark building that further challenges the common perception towards the design of affordable housing in the UK.
Victoria Wharf demonstrates just how imaginative design within affordable housing can generate a positive impact, not only upon residents but the community itself. The project utilised a site redundant for over 20 years, creating a building that is inspired by and in reciprocal fashion enhances its location, alongside providing much-needed affordable homes in Central London.
