Child Graddon Lewis is delighted to announce that its Dudley House scheme for Westminster Council has made the list of finalists for this year’s Inside Housing Development Awards. Currently under construction, Dudley House has been shortlisted for not one, but two accolades; Best Architectural Design and Best Residential Development (Urban).

Dudley House is a mixed use development within Paddington Basin which aims to provide 197 residential units for intermediate rent, a four form entry secondary school, a church and retail accommodation.

Occupying the southern end of the site, the school buildings will house the Marylebone Boys School, which is spread out over six storeys with dual aspect classrooms looking out onto bright central atria and a netted play area at roof level.

The new residential element occupies the northern end of the site overlooking the Westway. Apartments located within a 22 storey tower and a lower seven storey link block respond in both and scale and appearance to the existing townscape.

The scheme achieved planning consent in March 2016 and started on site in late 2016, with Willmott Dixon in the role of contractor.

The Inside Housing Development Awards offer a chance for the industry to celebrate those outstanding residential developments from across the UK. A panel of expert judges will be presenting the final awards to winners at the Homes Event on the 23 November.
