Kings School – CGL completes new education facility

CGL has recently completed one of two education projects on a greenbelt site for the King's School, demonstrating their knowledge and capability in the design of exemplary learning environments. Following on from a masterplan to assist with strategic planning in 2008, two projects were identified for development; an extension to the Junior School and the creation of a standalone Infant Educational Facility. The King’s School in Chester wished to create a permanent extension onto their existing Junior School to replace the temporary classrooms currently in existence on the site. The new building delivers essential facilities to enable the school to maintain its provision of first-rate education and continue to meet evolving educational requirements as well as producing a piece of exemplary modern architecture which reflects the future aspirations of the school and it’s pupils.

“We are delighted with the bright, modern space created for our science, art and design studios, and the bold and light atrium linking the older buildings to the new centre. As ever, the design has been imaginative and practical, and the design team helpful and prompt in all they do.”

Chris Ramsey. Headmaster, King's School
