Warriner Gardens - Battersea development approved by committee

21.01.2015

CGL has gained planning permission for a terrace of nine high-end townhouses in Battersea, on a portion of the site of the Old Imperial Laundry. Externally the design of the 6-bedroom units subtly references the architectural language of the neighbouring properties and interprets this in a sympathetic contemporary manner.

Internally the scheme provides generous, modern accommodation within a formerly industrial setting, avoiding issues of overlooking through the use of striking angled protruding bays to the front and rear, and tall panes of patterned glazing. The accommodation is spread over five floors, including basement, with south-facing private sunken courtyard patios and gardens backing onto a communal parking area. The development is due to start on site later this year.
